Temporary Website for Celebrations on Canvas

FAQ about live event painting

How much does it cost?

A live event painting is very unique and exciting! You will not only be purchasing an original painting but an original painting inspired by a special day in your life!

Celebrations on Canvas by Gustavo Rodriguez Jr does not publish prices because every occasion is just as unique as any event. Regardless of the agreed to price every painting will be undertaken with the same amount of integrity and artistic vision. That being said, the lowest available package available now including promotions, begin at around $500 and are only available within the Fresno, CA county region.  Other packages differing only in size are also available.  Also, be aware that if your event is taking place outside of the Fresno County area, room and board will be required in addition to the cost of the painting.

What is so special about live event painting?

A painting done on location is something that every guest can be a part of. Every event and day has an atmosphere and ambiance unique to itself and Gustavo has been capturing those unique moments since his grade school days on lined paper in just about every classroom. When you commission Gustavo to paint at your event you are providing a bit of entertainment and a lot of originality and remembrance factor to your event as your guests will be talking about your event for years to come and the finished painting on your wall will remind you everyday of your special day.

Which events are best for a live event painting?

Wedding ceremonies, receptions, Sweet 16s, Quinceaneras, concerts, communions, family reunions, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, rehearsal dinners, fund-raiser, any celebration can be captured on canvas and any gathering can be made to be a work of art.

What mediums does the artist use and are they safe?
Gustavo paints with acrylics on a stretched canvas. Acrylic paints are water-based and dry quickly which is critical to painting live. I don't use any harsh thinners but do take with me an odor less thinner for clean up emergencies (I have never used them on location). Also, I always have a drop cloth.

How much space does the artist need to work?

An easel, canvas, and the equipment need approximately a 4' x 6' area, indoors or out.

Can I have a say in how the painting will look?
The Artist is always open to suggestions so feel free to discuss them with him during your consultation.

When will the painting be finished?
Typically the painting is just about complete by the time the artist leaves the event. He then takes it back to his studio for the final touches. Delivery takes place anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks from the time of the event.

How do I reserve my event date?
Your date will be formally reserved upon receipt of a deposit.

I have a central theme for my event. Can the artist accommodate this?

The artist can and would be happy to join in the fun as much as he can accommodate!

How far in advance do I need to contact you to reserve a date?
The sooner the better.  But don't hesitate to call and ask about availability.

PARKER'S PROM

Children between the ages of 2 thru 19 who are fighting cancer will be attending Parker's Prom at Valley Children's Hospital this Saturday! The event is named after a 6 year old patient who was able to attend the first prom but unfortunately lost his battle. Celebrations on Canvas will be onsite capturing the moment as a donation to these brave children and Valley Children's Hospital.

I had the wonderful opportunity to share my art work this past Thursday at the Brass Unicorn in Fresno.  It was a great first time experience! I got a chance to chat with many of the people who took the time to visit about art, life and everything under the sun. I was glad to see that everyone was having a good time.  By the end of the night even the topic of religion came up and as I listened while eating the last of the munchies, I could tell the vibes were that good because there was no arguing.  I want to thank family, friends and new friends for showing up!  Two paintings were sold and I was relieved to see empty trays where there was once food and 4 empty bottles of wine by nights end.
